The executive director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, Roman Opimakh, has participated in the round table, which was held in the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center within the reforms communication project.
From R. Opimakh's speech: "Royalty rate of 29% is too much of a load to launch new projects in the industry. The security stock on top of the financial guarantees are burdening the gas suppliers with 70% of the monthly gas supply. The amendments to the Network Code of Ukraine, proposed by the Regulator, will increase this burden to 110%." The director also pointed out the necessity of holding open and transparent auctions for new licenses, and use modern technologies in production. "2/3 of the reserves in Ukraine are risky. This means, that they should be invested in and that advanced technologies should be used."
