The World Without Oil.
This was the title of the presentation of the analysis of the world's resource potential and development of competitive technologies by Iskander Diyashev from Petroskills. The company performs personnel training for its 30 partners-supermajors (Shell, Chevron, BP, Saudi Aramco, Repsol, etc.), which combined account for more than 40% of world's oil production.
Iskander Diyashev performs oil and gas reserves evaluation, hydrodynamic wells research, gas fields development courses around the world.
Today we will share interesting facts from Dr. Diyashev:
The world consumes 16 TW (Terawatt) of energy. At the same time, the Earth receives 100,000 TW of solar energy
Oil has the highest calorific value, the highest concentration of energy among the other hydrocarbons, it is this characteristic, which affects the price difference
It is proven that the oil and gas reserves are sufficient for another couple of centuries. However, the analysis of the resource potential based on the technical data, which was collected from the hydrocarbon basins of North America, reveals that the nonconventional resources exceeds the world's oil and gas resources. The ratio of technically extractable nonconventional resources to the traditional is estimated to be 4:1
3/4 of all oil produced is used for the following three purposes: ground transport, heating and electicity production, and as jet fuel
Approximately 2/3 of natural gas is used to produce electricity and in the industry to produce energy
The world is entering the era of saturation with energy and harsh price competition between the different energy resources. The supermajors in the following decades in their operations will be oriented at increasing their competitiveness with the use of the technology mix:
- carry out high quality 3D-modelling of geological surface;
- choose optimal drilling technology (hoizontal drilling);
- use oil extraction optimization and debit increase methods, multifracking
The average productivity of the active gas and condensate wells in Ukraine is only 0.1 of those in the US. This proves low efficiency of the technology used and lack of modern planning of the oil and gas field development in Ukraine. This is also a proof of a significant unrealized potential of the future domestic production in our country!
Development of the multiple fracking technology on horizontal wells within the scope of 3D-modelling of the fields has become the technological basis of the American shale revolution. It has sharply decreased the technological expenses on nonconventional resources development. Such methods allowed to significantly increase natural gas reserves and production in the US, and to start development of tight gas and almost non-recoverable and exhausted reserves
In the next 4 years the use of electic vehicles will increase from 100 thousand to 1.2 million. Today, electric vehicles comprise 2% of the new vehicles market. The biggest dynamics of the electic vehicles use is demonstrated in Norway, where today the best laboratories for development of charging devices technologies, Graphene
