JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya has received new commercial inflow of natural gas from the exploration well with the debit of 249 tcm/day and has opened a new field in Kharkiv oblast.

At the stage of geological exploration the reserves of the open field are at least 300 mcm, a the potential resources are assessed at over 1.5 bcm.

It is worth to mention that after obtaining the special permit, the opening of the field and start of the well have been performed in record short terms – 17 months.

«Development of new fields is a labor-intensive process, which requires the mobilization of scientific, engineering, and financial efforts. The obtaining of the special permit does not guarantee a 100% economic interest of the field development. Moreover, the process extends in time. Thus, the company is always stressing out the issue of delays in the issue of new special permits, which is not being solved for a long time», – states the geology director, Myron Firman.

For Ukrgasvydobuvannya, the issue of creating a new resource base is crucial, and it is the thing, upon which the achievement of Strategy 20/20 depends. Thus, after over 60 denials of approval from only Poltava oblast in the past 2 years, Ukraine will receive 1 bcm less of natural gas in 2018.

To remind, it usually takes 2-4 years from the issue of the license to development of the field. In that time, such stages as seismic research, exploration drilling, appraisal drilling, development drilling take place. Thus, in case of obtaining new special permits, the incremental gas flow should be expected not sooner than in two years.
