Today the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, represented by its executive director, Roman Opimakh, is participating in the strategic conference at the Energy Institute in London.
"The Ukrainian Energy Day is an extremely important public event in the Europe's financial capital. We need the investments from strategic investors, there is much to be done on the way to reform the industry, as we are only in the beginning of the transformations" – Roman Opimakh stated in his speech.
He continued, saying that "the foreign capital is attracted by clear and undestandable rules of operations in the industry. We are currently undergoing a price reform and liberalization of the gas market. However, for big international capital, the Government has to propose clearer and more attractive stimuli of the tax regime in the industry, simplification of the permitting system, its deregulation, transparent bidding procedures for new licenses. Lowering the abnormal entry tariffs, set by the TSO, are also on the agenda as one of the main priorities.
The industry is still awaiting those bold stimuli, which are the key to the path, which is discussed on all levels: increasing gas production, ensuring zero imports by 2020" – the director finalized.
