Conducting of oil and gas online auctions and PSA tenders in order to attract foreign investors and the sophisticated technology is the key task for this year. All speakers at the Ukrainian Energy Forum, which started on February 26 in Kyiv focused attention on this.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, opening the event, stressed that our country has unique opportunities in the energy sector and continues the course on energy independence. He mentioned implemented reforms for the development of gas producing industry such as deregulation, disclosure of geological information and the holding of online auctions and PSA tenders.
"An important task for Ukraine is to increase the production of Ukrainian gas and to use it efficiently, to become self-sufficient and eventually turn from the importer to the exporter of gas" said Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion noted:
"The biggest breakthrough of the previous year is the introduction of oil and gas online auctions. Transparent procedure of oil and gas licensing rounds will necessarily bring modern technology to the gas producing industry. The government is ready to maximize the attraction of investors to the sector. "
The Executive Director of the Association, Roman Opimakh emphasized that 2019 will be very intensive for the domestic gas production because of the conducting of the international oil and gas online auctions and PSA tenders.
"The government has announced 9 blocks for PSA tenders, another 3 blocks will be offered as soon as possible. Potential investors will have 90 days to submit their application to the Interagency Commission. The total area of 9 blocks is 11,600 sq. km. They are located within well-explored oil and gas basins with existing gas transportation infrastructure"
