The Slovak petroleum company, NAFTA, has announced its large-scale launch to the Ukrainian market with the intentions to implement a large natural gas production project on the Yuzivske field. 

The independent companies have produced 4.2 bcm of natural gas, 0.4% less than in 2016. Informationally, production grew by 7% in 2016, and by 20% in 2015.

Based on operational information, production in Ukraine in 2017 totaled to 20.5 bcm, which is 2.4% more than production in 2016. The petroleum industry has paid a total of 74.6 billion UAH of taxes, which is almost 10% of the State Budget revenues.

Gas producers are confident that cancellation of this soviet-era rudiment is a progressive decision, and are expecting that cancellation of the norm will be implemented in practice as soon as possible.

On December 19, 2017, the Verkhovna Rada has made another step towards increasing domestic gas production and achieving the energy independence of Ukraine. 231 MP voted for the bill 3096-d, which should deregulate the gas production industry.

Today, on December 17, 2017, during the Government meeting dedicated to deregulation issues, the causeless requirement of repeated state expertise and assessment of mineral reserves every 5 years.

Royalty decentralization starting 2018 should make the locals more interested in cooperation with the gas production industry.
