In 2017, the gas production industry of Ukraine has shown first positive results for the first time in years. This may be considered as the foundation of the further increase of natural gas production. The state-owned Ukrgasvydobuvannya is the leading growth force with almost 4.5% growth of production in 2017.

At the same time, last year has also been marked by a series of unpleasant suprises, among which: non-prolongation of a large amount of gas producers' licenses, lack of auctions for licenses, and the partially unsolved issue of licenses deregulation. Ukrinform has summarized the year together with the executive director of the Association, Roman Opimakh.
