On November 23, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman, has attended the production units of PJSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya in Poltava oblast, where he got familiar with the process of drilling new wells, contracted to the Croatian company Crosco Integrated Drilling & Well Services Ltd.
It is the first project in the history of the largest gas producer of Ukraine, performed by the foreign contractor with the use of ultra advanced drilling rigs.
Cooperation of PJSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya with Crosco includes drilling of twelve new wells. The total cost is €47 million. Currently, two wells are being drilled on Yablunivske field.
Except for the Croatian company, the project includes 18 Ukrainian service companies, which are involved in arrangement of the production ground and other related works. In total, approximately 140 Ukrainian citizens are employed.
The Chairman of the Board of PJSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya, Oleh Prokhorenko, has highlighted that involving such powerful European players of the global service market influences the competitive field on Ukraine's domestic market.
"Due to such a forceful player as Ukrgasvydobuvannya, the Ukrainian service market is undergoing radical changes. This project is an example of well arranged, and, without any doubt, successful cooperation of the Government and the state-owned gas production industry. At the same time, Ukrgasvydobuvannya and Naftogaz Group were able to build a quality and transparent procurement system, which allows to attract the companies with the best equipment, while maintaining close competition of the world industry's leaders" – noted Oleh Prokhorenko.

CROSCO has been operating on the world market since 1952 in 34 countries, providing services to the most famous international and state-owned petroleum companies. The company runs its own equipment park of 11 drilling rigs, 17 well workover units, and other equipment. CROSCO is also a 100% owned of the Hungarian company Rotary Drilling, the drilling fleet of which includes 5 drilling rigs, and which also provides workover and other maintenance services for wells.
