The Burisma International Energy Group has completed the installation of the Italian drilling rig Drillmec and is commencing construction of prospecting well № 1 of the Klubanivsko-Zubrenkivska area with a design depth of more than 6000 m.

The drilling will be conducted in order to search for hydrocarbon deposits and to study the target forecast-productive horizons of the Devonian and Tournai stages, with a concomitant assessment of the prospect of deposits of the Visean and Serpukhovian stages of the Lower Carboniferous of the Klubanivsko-Zubrenkivska area.

According to Director of the Board of Directors at Burisma Group Karina Zlochevska, the Group is working hard to create a new resource base and increase natural gas production.

“Exploring and developing new sites that will increase domestic production of natural gas, condensate and oil is a part of the general strategy of Burisma Group aimed at strengthening energy independence and energy security of Ukraine,” – said Karina Zlochevska.

The drilling of this well, as well as of other exploratory wells of the Group, will be carried out by pitless method with the use of sludge dewatering technology by means of a special dehumidifier. This drilling method meets the best international environmental standards.
